We Enjoy Ourselves
I like everything about the group. Doing the allotment which is easy to get into in my wheelchair.

We Encourage Others
You get to do things that you've never done before and make new friends. I've got a bigger bond with my brother since we started.

We Work Together
It's somewhere to relax and finish the week after school. I really enjoyed the residential trip, I'd never done anything like that before.!

The Funky Friday Group is a youth provision which is housed in the Wigton Youth Station building.  It is an open group which provides a safe environment for young people (aged 11+) whose lives are affected by disability, to make friends, discuss issues facing them and underpin their development through their social skills.  It is a vibrant place to engage in activities, projects and trips, and most importantly somewhere to have FUN!

The Funky Friday Group meets every other Friday, sessions run from 6:30pm until 8:30pm. The Funky Friday Group is FREE-OF-CHARGE to attend.

Sessions are largely centre-based, providing access to various facilities for group members including, computers, games, pool table and TV room.  The Funky Friday Group has also provided the opportunity for members to attend trips and take part in focused project work (some with accreditations attached).  Recent trips include: ice-skating, theatre trip to see a Christmas production, bowling trip and a residential weekend which provided a valuable opportunity for the young people to build relationships and develop skills.  Our current project is the development and management of an allotment, where the group engage in all aspects of growing, cultivating and harvesting fruit and vegetables.

Funky Friday is now weekly from January 2011!
